At Oxford Playmaker we offer a range of courses for writers at different stages in their career:
For professional and aspiring writers John runs a weekly course every Monday from October to June.

This professional course covers every aspect of writing a play over 30 weekly sessions and 3 day-long workshops. There are also individual tutorials at the end of each term. Sessions take place every Monday either from 2.00 – 4.30pm or 6.00 – 8.30pm and there is a maximum of 7 writers per group.
Admission is by interview, plus an extended sample of the applicant’s written work. No academic qualification is required and the course is open to anyone over 18.
By the end of the course, the writers have written three plays and heard them read aloud and partly staged by professional actors. All writers receive up-to-date professional advice as to where to send their work
Course A and Course B follow an identical programme and take place in a beautiful venue on Oxford High Street.
Both courses have an additional full-day session plus individual tuition time at the end of each term.
The course lasts 80 hours in total.
