John Retallack and Renata Allen are professional writers and theatre directors.

Recent productions include Owen Sheers’ Pink Mist at Bristol Old Vic, The Bush Theatre, London (2016) and a national tour (2017) directed by John Retallack and George Mann.

Renata wrote and directed a new Christmas piece for Oxford Story Museum Three Bears (2016/17) and will be writing and directing again for The Story Museum this Christmas.

In 2016 Renata directed a new play by Abi Hood entitled Dangling that played at the OffBeat festival in Oxford and at The Courtyard, London. In August 2017 Dangling is playing at Southwark Playhouse for a 3 week run – to bookhttp://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/show/dangling/

John Retallack’s production of Zena Forster’s adaptation of Kate Clanchy’s Antigona and Me  played at OffBeat Festival in Summer 2016 and was also presented at The National Theatre, London in a staged reading.

At this year’s Offbeat festival John presented a new play that Mandy Constance, The Ocean Queen that Mandy wrote when she was part of the Writers on Attachment programme at Oxford Playhouse 2015-16.

John is currently commissioned to write a follow up to his award winning play, Hannah and Hanna by UK Arts International.
