John Retallack and Renata Allen are professional writers and theatre directors.

Recent productions include Owen Sheers’ Pink Mist at Bristol Old Vic, The Bush Theatre, London (2016) and a national tour (2017) directed by John Retallack and George Mann.

Renata wrote and directed two new Christmas pieces for Oxford Story Museum Three Bears (2016/17) and Jingle’s Magic Sleigh (2017/18)

In 2016 Renata directed a new play by Abi Hood entitled Dangling that played at the OffBeat festival in Oxford and at The Courtyard, London. In August 2017 Dangling played at Southwark Playhouse for a 3 week run – to book

John Retallack’s production of Zena Forster’s adaptation of Kate Clanchy’s Antigona and Me  played at OffBeat Festival in Summer 2016 and was also presented at The National Theatre, London in a staged reading.

At this year’s Offbeat festival John presented a new play that Mandy Constance, The Ocean Queen that Mandy wrote when she was part of the Writers on Attachment programme at Oxford Playhouse 2015-16.

John is currently commissioned to write a follow up to his award winning play, Hannah and Hanna by UK Arts International.
